Gaming provides an interactive way to understand history. But you cannot play or create a game without digital literacy, so often those outside of the realm of digital literacy have stories untold. It is time to take a more nuanced approach to social justice games. These images are some screenshots I grabbed from MECC's 1992 game about the Underground Railroad, "Freedom!"
